Sisyrinchium bellum – Blue-Eyed Grass (Californian Blue-Eyed Grass)
A delightful California native perennial, Sisyrinchium bellum forms compact tufts of bluish-green grass-like foliage studded with cheerful bluish-purple star-shaped flowers from summer through fall. Despite its delicate appearance, it's a tough and adaptable plant — drought tolerant, deer resistant, and somewhat gopher resistant — that naturalizes beautifully in sunny borders, rock gardens, and meadow plantings. Compact enough for small spaces and containers.
