A compact and refined evergreen grass, Sesleria caerulea is distinguished by its striking two-toned foliage — dark green on top and silver-blue underneath — that creates a shimmering effect as it moves in the breeze. Vigorous, dense, and weed-proof, it forms a tidy clump perfect for borders, rock gardens, and groundcover plantings. Drought, deer, and bog tolerant, it blooms in spring through summer with blackish purple panicles that age to tan. Attracts butterflies.
