Chondropetalum tectorum 'El Campo' – Small Cape Rush (Thatch Reed)

Native to South Africa, 'El Campo' is a lovely architectural restio with stiff dark green stems and dark brown flower spikes. This perennial forms a broad, dense clump that brings upright texture to garden beds. It performs best in moist, well-draining sandy soil, yet can also tolerate drought and boggy or clay soils. Give it sun to part shade and avoid fertilizers, particularly those high in phosphorus.
