A spectacular groundcover thyme, Thymus praecox 'Coccineus' puts on a dazzling show in summer when its dense, low mat of tiny dark green leaves is completely smothered in vivid crimson-magenta blooms. One of the most colorful of all creeping thymes, it is equally stunning cascading over walls, filling gaps between stepping stones, or carpeting a sunny slope. Bees and butterflies flock to it in bloom. Tolerates light foot traffic and releases a pleasant fragrance when brushed.
