A handsome and large-scale California native selection discovered in the King Mountain Range of Humboldt County, 'The King' stands out among Pacific reed grasses for its unusually broad, bold blades and impressive stature. Evergreen and deer resistant, it makes a striking background or accent plant in woodland gardens, partly shaded meadows, and naturalistic landscapes. Showy seed heads emerge in spring and persist through summer, adding movement and texture.
