One of the most intensely red-flowering Salvias available, 'Red Velvet' makes a bold statement with its profusion of vivid red blooms that contrast beautifully against dark chocolate stems and calyces. A large, woody, evergreen shrub with a generous bloom season from summer through fall, it's an excellent background plant, border specimen, and cut flower. Deer resistant, drought resistant, and gopher resistant, it attracts butterflies and hummingbirds throughout the season.
