Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso' – Lavandin
The world's most commercially grown lavender, Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso' is the variety behind much of the lavender essential oil, sachets, and dried bundles found in markets worldwide. Its large, densely packed purple-violet flower spikes are extraordinarily fragrant — more so than most English lavenders — and are borne on long, sturdy stems that make them exceptional for cutting and drying. In the garden, its vigorous, mounding silver-green foliage and bold flower display make it a showstopper as a specimen, hedge, or mass planting.
