Helichrysum 'Ruby Cluster' – Red Everlasting

Helichrysum 'Ruby Cluster' – Red Everlasting

A delightful compact perennial, 'Ruby Cluster' forms a neat mound of narrow, felted, silvery-gray leaves that brings soft texture to sunny borders, gravel gardens, and pots. Deep ruby-red buds appear in spring, opening into papery pink flowers that gradually fade to white around yellow centers through summer. Selected by Chris Bowyer and also known as 'Blorub', this attractive everlasting is lovely at the front of a border, tucked among rocks, or grown for dried-flower arrangements. Its drought tolerance makes it useful in low-water plantings, but excellent drainage is essential: avoid overwatering and protect it from prolonged winter wet. Remove spent flower clusters to keep the mound tidy.
