A fast-growing, vigorous California native from the coastal bluffs near Carmel, Ceanothus griseus 'Carmel Creeper' is one of the most durable and wide-spreading groundcover shrubs available. Its glossy dark green foliage forms a dense, low mat that erupts in light blue flowers each late spring and early summer, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds in abundance. Tough enough to handle drought, fire, deer, and coastal conditions, it's an outstanding choice for bank stabilization and large-scale groundcover plantings. (syn. C. thyrsiflorus 'Carmel Creeper')
