The tiniest and most refined of the creeping thymes, Thymus serpyllum 'Elfin' forms an ultra-compact, cushion-like mat of minute, bright green leaves that hugs the ground with remarkable precision. In summer, tiny pink blooms dot the surface, creating a delicate floral carpet that bees adore. Its miniature scale makes it ideal for trough gardens, rock gardens, between fine-grained stepping stones, and anywhere a refined, low-growing groundcover is needed. Virtually maintenance-free once established.
