Salvia nemorosa 'Marcus' – Meadow Sage
Marcus is a delightful dwarf meadow sage with rich violet-blue flower spikes above a compact mound of fragrant foliage. Its petite proportions bring lovely color to sunny edging, rock gardens, patio containers, and the front of mixed borders without crowding neighboring plants. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the spring and summer flowers, while established plants offer useful drought tolerance and deer resistance. Grow in average, well-drained soil in full sun, water regularly during establishment, and deadhead spent spikes to encourage a longer flowering season. Although drought tolerant, it flowers best with occasional supplemental water.
