Lyrical Blues forms a sturdy mound of gray-green foliage topped with upright spikes of deep violet-blue flowers opening from dark burgundy buds. This compact selection, also known as 'Balyriclu', brings rich color to sunny borders, edging, containers, and mass plantings while attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Its main display begins in late spring and early summer; trimming spent flower spikes encourages repeat bloom. Plant in well-drained soil, water regularly during establishment, and provide supplemental water in extreme heat.
