Salvia chiapensis – Chiapas Sage
Chiapas Sage is a delightful perennial from southern Mexico, with glossy green foliage and wispy spikes of fuzzy reddish-pink to magenta flowers. Its long bloom season brings color from summer through fall, with flowers continuing into winter in mild, frost-free gardens. An excellent border and container plant, it attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and thrives in sun to partial shade. Provide moderate water and well-drained soil; established plants tolerate some drought. Deer and gopher resistance add to its practical garden appeal. In cold climates, grow in pots and protect in winter.
