Salvia chamaedryoides 'Marine Blue' – Germander Sage
Marine Blue pairs lovely indigo-blue flowers with fragrant gray-green foliage, creating a striking contrast in sunny, waterwise gardens. Its rounded, mounding habit slowly spreads to fill borders and sunny slopes, while the flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators. Bloom can extend from spring into fall, with the heaviest displays often in spring and fall. Grow in well-drained soil and water regularly during establishment; afterward, occasional supplemental watering can encourage a longer flowering season. Light shade and extra water can be helpful in hot inland gardens. Deadhead spent flowers, prune lightly in spring, and trim spreading growth as needed.
