Ocimum kilimandscharicum 'African Blue' – African Blue Basil
One of the most ornamental basils available, 'African Blue' is a striking hybrid with beautiful purple-blushed foliage and a robust, bushy habit that makes it as attractive in the garden as it is useful in the kitchen. Unlike most basils, it rarely goes to seed, instead producing a continuous flush of small purple-tinged flowers that are irresistible to bees and butterflies throughout the season. The leaves carry a complex camphor-tinged basil fragrance and are excellent for culinary use. Drought tolerant and vigorous once established.
