Lavandula pinnata – Fernleaf Lavender
Details
Lavandula pinnata (syn. L. multifida, L. Downey) – Fernleaf Lavender
Unlike any other lavender, Lavandula pinnata is immediately recognizable by its finely divided, fernlike gray-green foliage that gives it a delicate, almost lacy appearance. Native to the Canary Islands and Madeira, it is a fast-growing, tender lavender that thrives in warm, dry conditions and blooms prolifically with rich purple-blue flower spikes on long, branching stems. Its exotic texture makes it a striking accent in borders, containers, and Mediterranean-style gardens. In mild climates it can bloom nearly year-round.
