Helianthemum 'Cheviot' – Sunrose
'Cheviot' is a lovely, sought-after evergreen shrub with a low, trailing habit and apricot-peach flowers highlighted by golden-yellow centers. Its spring-to-summer display makes an attractive addition to sunny rock gardens, while its spreading growth is excellent for softening rock walls or forming a colorful groundcover. Deer resistant and tolerant of drought and coastal conditions, it grows best in sun with moderate to dry watering conditions. The original nursery notes describe it as fire retardant; this does not mean the plant is fireproof.
