Epilobium canum 'Summer Snow' – California Fuchsia

Epilobium canum 'Summer Snow' – California Fuchsia (Hummingbird Flower)

This lovely white-flowering selection of California's native fuchsia brings a cooling touch to the summer and fall garden. Slender, tubular white flowers rise over matte gray-green leaves, offering nectar for hummingbirds and drawing butterflies to sunny plantings. Its compact, mat-forming habit is excellent for rock gardens and border edges, while its drought tolerance makes it a practical choice for water-wise landscapes. It can also be used near oaks where sunny exposure and well-drained, dry growing conditions are compatible. Evergreen to semi-evergreen in mild conditions, 'Summer Snow' appreciates well-drained soil and only occasional water once established; winter pruning helps reduce woody buildup.
