Digitalis x mertonensis – Strawberry Foxglove
Unlike most foxgloves which are biennial, Digitalis x mertonensis Strawberry Foxglove is a true perennial, reliably returning year after year. It produces tall spikes of large, inflated tubular flowers in warm strawberry-pink with attractive brown and white veining inside the throat in summer. A hybrid between D. purpurea and D. grandiflora, it combines the bold flower size of the former with the perennial habit of the latter, making it one of the most garden-worthy foxgloves available.
