Ceanothus griseus var. horizontalis 'Diamond Heights' – California Lilac

Ceanothus griseus var. horizontalis 'Diamond Heights' – California Lilac

'Diamond Heights' is an attractive variegated selection of a California native ceanothus, prized for glossy lime-green to chartreuse foliage marked with deep pine-green centers. Its low-spreading evergreen habit brings year-round color to garden edges, slopes, and rock gardens, and looks lovely cascading over a wall or the edge of a container. Clusters of pale blue flowers appear in spring, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Tolerant of coastal conditions and drought once established, this colorful groundcover prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade; provide afternoon shade in hot climates to protect the variegated foliage from scorching.
